PetRuut–Veterinary Clinic at the Gateway to Tartu
PetRuut is a contemporary small animal clinic located at the entrance to Tartu, designed as one of thecity’s first welcoming landmarks. Its architecture is calm and precise, yet lightin character—whereclear structure meets an elegant sense of openness.
The clinic is formed as a simple square volume, shaped by carefully placed cut-outs that create distinctentrances and naturally separate different functions. This ensures an intuitive layout, smoothcirculation, and a clear identity for each zone.
A perforated metal double façade wraps the concrete and glass structure, giving PetRuut itsrecognizable appearance. Beyond its refined aesthetic, the façade provides solar shading and indoorcomfort, while greenery behind the screen adds depth and softness to the exterior.Access is fast andeffortless, with parking for over 120 vehicles and separate service routes to support efficient dailyoperations. A natural green buffer protects the campus from the nearby highway, while a central squarepark offers a peaceful, pet-friendly outdoor space with integrated stormwater collection.
PetRuut is a future-ready healthcare building where functionality, sustainability, and architectural claritycometogether in a warm environment for both animals and their owners.
