Architecture Competition of The Central Library-community Center of Jõhvi

Our proposal for Jõhvi Central Library and Community Center seamlessly blends static and dynamic architectural elements, becoming a striking feature of the modern cityscape while maintaining a dignified and welcoming interior.

Inspired by the concept of the “Trail of Thought,” the building symbolizes the continuous flow of ideas, knowledge, and the pursuit of discovery. This vision is embedded in design and functionality, with spaces thoughtfully crafted to encourage lifelong learning, creativity, and community engagement.

At the heart of the building lies a central core, housing key functional areas where daily activities take place. Surrounding this core, dynamic pathways rise and wind around the building’s perimeter, creating a sense of visual and physical movement. These outer zones host the most versatile, visitor-oriented spaces, offering areas for study, play, work, and relaxation, encouraging exploration and interaction throughout the center.
